Principal's Message

Welcome to George Washington Elementary! This is such an amazing school and a special place to learn and grow every day.  We are proud of our school, students, staff and parents.  We have high expectations for each and every student to reach their potential throughout the year.  We have Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program with an additional emphasis on cultural awareness during the year. Campus wide we have a strong focus on reading every day at students' reading levels, writing every day, and working at the level of our math standards reaching these areas of focus with AVID strategies.   

We have a strong emphasis on positive recognition for behaviors.  We utilize our Patriot Tickets as well as Positive office referrals when students are showing positive behaviors. Throughout the year we will also be recognizing our students through a new character focus where students will be recognized for showing the skills of a PATRIOT (Patriots - . These skills build the word PATRIOT).  Each month there will be a characteristic that is a campus wide focus with an emphasis on being Safe, Respectful and Responsible throughout each day.  

We love having opportunities for greater parent involvement throughout the year.  We have many events planned for our families to join in things like Book Fairs, Lunch with a Loved one, Spring Carnival, parent training evenings, PTA activities and many more.  Check back often for updates on our events.
